WILKESBARRE, Pa , December 9—Four men were killed
this morning and ten injured by the explosion of a box of dynamite in Number Five mine of the Lehigh Wilkesbarre Coa]
Company. The powder was lowered in a box into the shaft
and when the men were removing it they let it fall and the
explosion followed. Twenty men were hurled in all directions, and several were injured and cannot live.
