elaim for Nevada county that itis a paradise on earth, nor even the popular romance

Nevada county lies a little north of the
eentral line of California;-aud coutains«

_from the summit. of the Sierra
mountains, on the east live of the State,
westward « distance of seventy miles to the
Sacramento Valley. It is from twelve to
twenty miles wide. The altitude is from
two to three thousand feet along its central
portion aud less thau one thousand feet elevation in the western or valley region. The
line of the Central Pacific Railroad crosses
the eastern boundary, and traverses the
southern portion of the county-f r many

gold mines, including quartz, hydraulic and

sounty comprixes about 250,000 acres~ ot
land, a large per centage of:which is adapied to eultivation. The topograpy of the
county is such as to give variety tu the pro
ducts. We grow successfully in Nevada
vounty: Oranges, lemons, citrons, figss,
olives, apricots, plums, st-awberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberrie~, hazel nuts,
black walnuts, chestnuts, almonds, and
“every kind of vegetable grown.
‘Nevada City is the county seat of Nevada
eounty. There are five daily, one tri-weekly and three weekly newspapers published
in the county.

goods on the streets, games, amusements and other thin, for which a

The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada d
ordain as-follows:
SECTION 1;
It shall be unlawful foraay person to sell or
vend any goods, wa es or merchandis# upon the
public streets of the City of Nevada, or to set up
or use for gain any merry-go-round, striking:
machine, phouograph, game or Other thing used
for amusement, pjengure or other purpose for
which a Charge is made within the corporate imits of said city wi'hout first procuring » license
therefor, as hereinafter required
