A Hint About Stoves
On your Sewer Work if you want to have a first-class job
and savé money. We sell Pipe at the lowest’ market
prices, if you want todo your own work in making connections with the new city system. Or we will take contracts to furnish the pipe, put it down and make all connections. We employ none but first-class workmen.
George E. Turner,
You may need a new heating or cooking stove. Our
stock is one of the largest in this part of the State. We
have the best makes sold anywhere, and the prices are
surprisingly moderate for such stoves.

Benjamin Binns, called Ben for short.
‘Ben’s portentous length of name’ is
out of all proportion to his stature,
for he is but little more than 24% feet
tall. He is an anthropoid (manlike)
tion, being as near to the missing link
as any creature that ever reached this
eountry. His legs and arms are longer
than his body and, like all members of
his race, he always walks upright, with
his broad shouiders well thrown back.
His face is ebony and looks:very-huTHE MISSING LINK:

man. The coarse, dark brown hair
that covers his body is sparse on the
arms and legs, but grows low on his
fofehead, which shows not more than
two inches of bare skin. His eyebrows
are arched above.a pair of big, brown,
kind-looking eyes, which lack entirely
the.cunning look that.is usual among
members of the monkey tribe. These
eyes are mild in their expressicn—as
mild and bland as those of a Mongolian. The nose again favors the human animal. It is not'so flat as that
of most apes. The mouth is large and,
when open, as it often is, displays a
fine set of teeth. During the long voyage from the East. Indies Ben learned
to sleep ina bunk, drink coffee and
shake hands.
Source of the Gulf Stream.
Recent investigations have shown
that the principal source of the Gulf
stream is not the Florida channel, but
the region between and beside: the
islands of the West Indies. At-Binioni the volume of this warm water
is 60 times as great as the combined
volumes of all the rivers of the world
at_their mouths.
