Draining and Plumbing of Property and Houses. Nhs BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY of ad: Ordain as follows : Szorron 1. No private house connections, or private lateral sewer shall in any way be considered a part.of the system of public sewers. SzoTion 2. The management of the system of publi¢ sewers of Nevada City sha . be in the hands of a Superintendent. The oftice of Superintendent. of Public Sewers. is hereby created. He shall devote his entire time to the duties of his office and to’ such other public duties as may be. prescribed by order of the Board of Trustees. The Suverintendent shall receive a salary, which shall be tixed by order of the Boa:dof Trustees from time to time. The Superintendent ‘of the Sewer System shall give his personal attention toall connections made by tlie drain layers and. to all :1lumbing and shall pass upon all draining and plumbing upon completion of such work. It shall be bis duty to see that all buildings are connected to the sewer system in accordance with this ordinance. and he shall inform the Sewer Commi tee and the Board of ‘trustees, in writing, of the refusal of any owner to make prope connection with any established sewer. He shall see to the proper flushing of all main sewers and branches and shall have control of all works connected with the sewerage of the city, subject to the orders herein before provided. He shall have power to stop and prevent from discharging into the public sewers any private drain through which substances are discharged that are likely. to ivjure or choke the public sewers. And when any sewer is laid or aceepted in any pu_ lic street, alley or right of way hereafter the own r of any tenement situate on lands as above déscribed shal within thirty days after. the acceptance of said sewer by the Board of Trustees, construct a drain or sewer and perform the re“tquired plumbing insuch a manner that all sewer waste from-such tenement shali be drained into such sewer. And any person owaing or controlling lands situated as apove described upon which lund a tenement is hereafter constructed, shall within thirty days after the completion of such tenement and before iis ovcupancy by any person whatever, connect such tenement with such sewer by a drain or sewer, constracted in the manner required in this ordinance, Any tenement which, prior to the passage of this ordinance, has been plumbed and drained, shall be thoroughly inspected and tested before permits to connecs w th the public sewers shall be granted.
