In looking over the: list of artists, we find the naties of the! ™ well known artists, Billy Young and . ‘Charles Cass, which is sufficient . guarantee that a night of hilarity is e be expected. In connection with the above we find the name of Le Roy & wonderful sweetness of tone, and a phenominal compass. Rabe Brown, whose dansing is more than satisfies! all lovers of terpsichorean art, and the whose act is all that is clalmed for it,! a real novelty. Taking the programme from start to finish, it is one that should command full houses, as it is away fromjthe old style of minstrelsy, which we have heard for so many years. «ee Double-Handed Dritling Contest. in addition to the other drilling contests on miner’s day at the Mining Fair there will be a special contest for Gouble-hand drilling, with two men ‘striking and another man turning the drill. A prize of $75 will be given to the winners. Miners who desire to at Grass Valley immediately. Contestants must provide their own hammers, etc. ; is Now japerporated. At San Francisco few days ago the Consolidated Odin Mining Company was incorporated, with M. Blaskower, ' J. Brosseur, H. L. Cook, A Heynemann and L. Levison as directors. Capital stock $1,200,000. The Odin drift gravel mine is Jocated on Selby Hill about a mile from this . city. Operations will probably be resumed ihere next summer. At the Providence. The shaft atthe Prov Providence Mine is n>w down 1950 feet, and sinking will be continued till a depth of 2000 feet is reached. A level has been cut at 1930 feet and drifts will be run both ways.
