It was reported this afternoon that the

physician and two years; later applied in

At a meeting of the Board of Directors: of
the Oakland Board of Trade, Tuesday night,
the following resolutions indorsing the action of the State Miners’ Association were
unatiimously adopted :
Whereas,’ The’ prosperity of ;aur State
must ever depend in part upon her varied
and extensive mineral resources, from which
flow annpally millions of dollars into-the
chnueld of commerce, and
Whereas, The futher development of our
mining industry depend, ina great measure,
upon favorable legislation by our National
Congress ; now, therefore, be it,
Resolved, That our Senatora and Representative in Congress ke requested to use

Department, but if they conclude to do so it
is understood that Mrs, J.T. Howard of
Grass Valley will be invited to take charge

Mrs. Howard had volunteered to take the

firemen of this city contemplated giving a
concert. She is now arranging a musical
