Probable Fairy Story Story of Discovery in
Pima County, Arizona.
According to an exchange, there are
in the old Ajo mining district of Pima
éounty, Arizona, three mountains of
solid copper ore. As nearly as can be
calculated the largest mountain is 1200
feet long by 900 feet wideand the others are about 1200 feet long and from
100 to 200 feet wide, and the surroundthe ore.
_ This district is situated’ in the extreme southwestern part of Arizona
about 40 miles from the Mexican line,
50 miles south of Gila Bend station on
the Southern Pacific, and 100 miles
east of the Colorado river. The wagon
road from the railroad is as level as a
floor, and plenty of water can be: had
at from 40 to 60: feet. According to
the small. workings already had, the
average profits per ton will be about
$12, above all expenses. With. this immense amount of ore “in sight,” as calculations are “usually made, there are
thousands of millions of money for the
fortunate owners.
