H. Orooker was shot and possibly fatally wounded Monday in Foote’s Canyon, & ou county. The particulars of the affair, as they reached Redding yesterday, were that Orooker was at work surveying some mining claims and Ed, Hill, who claimed a portion of the ground, appeared on the scene and protested against Orooker’s running bis lines: A fight ensued and weapone were drawn by both. Hill fired first and one bullet struck Crooker in the thigh, inflicting a possibly fatal injury. Another ball struck him in the body.
