‘Andrew~ McNally, who had been ill

the sufferer lingered in a delirons con-.

The injury sustained by the fall made
his case a peculiar one,and retarded
any favorable symptoms of recovery. .
The deceased became faint and fell as
stated above, which, of course, added .
doubly to hie sufferirgs. .
Andrew, better known to bis friends
as “Span” McoNelly, was born and

McNally, who died.a few months ago,
was an early settler here and -well
known to the old-timers. “Span” is

jovial disposition—ever ready to give
or-take a joke. He was true to his
friends, who greatly regret his passing
from their midst while yet in his
prime.
The deceased leaves two sisters, Mrs.
Oharies. Steffen, of Nevada City, and
Mrs. Durand, of Sacramento; a brother,
William MoNally, two half brothers,
‘Victor and Robert Gates, besides his
mother; He was aged 33 years and 10
days. . :

Mr. McNally breathed his last, became overcome by the shock and remained in a semi-unconscious conTrustees Mecl.

of the work was $1185.10, of which
amount the city has paid $569.89, Mr.
Fairchild stated that his claim was exclusive of the freight on the iron
material, which was $63. However, he
was willing to call the matter square,
provided the city euthorities were likewise disposed. Trustees Rogers, Hill

turned in by the Traction company
nearly all of it was expemded on the
