Endorsed the ‘* Overland.”’
—_
The Beard of Education of Nevada county
at ite last meeting endorsed ‘the Overlaud
throughout the county. Other counties. of
the State hawe done the same thing, and
the Overland is now found in nearly all the
district schools of the State, It is the only
magazine published on the Coast, and is
firat-class in every respect, its merit as a
literary work and the excellence and interesting character of the articles entitling it
to the most liberal support of those. who
are fond of good, wholesome reading.

j14—1 bell. .Hunt, R, M, improvenfents and conveniences—a building
that would be a credit.to our town and of
which everybody would be justly. proud.
. Asuitable building could probably be constructed for $20,000, which amount would
have to be raised by special tax, and this
could be arranged so as to cover a term of
years, thus making the burden comparatively; light. » We believe the people. of this
city-are all interested in the welfare of the
schools and that they will favor any reasonable project looking towards the betterment
of the same.. The proposition will no doubt . :
be discussed by the Board of Education in
the near future.
