GOING TO CHINA,
A Mongolian’s Narrow Escape From
Perishing in the Snow.
» Yee Sing, a Chinaman who has been engaged in mining at Washington for many
years, and who was formerly engaged in
merchandising, has left for China. The
old fellow is suffering from quick consumption and realizes that he is pot going to live
long. \Two-countrymen who are going with
him started to go from Washington to the
California mine to see their. brother, who is
a cook at the mine. The trip through the
snow was a rough one and one of the celestials gave out. His companion reached-the
mine and informed-the-men of what had
happened. Charles Lilly, fereman of the
mine, found the exhausted Chinaman nearly
dead from the cold and carried him on his
back to the mine, where the unfortanate
man was restored. A little longer and he
would have perished, .
