. The Cause Of It.
The importance of the citizens of . community acting together is thus expressed by
William 'H. Mills in the San Francisco Call:
*‘Los Angeles arose from & city of 5,000 toa
city of nearly 100,000 in less than twenty
years, simply by reason of the capacity of her
citizens to act together in the upbuilding of
their country. The same statement is true
of every city and commonwealth that has
enjoyed any degree of prosperity within the
past century. It is through this unified
effort alone that prosperity can come to CaliOught to Be There,

“Seven years ago, my.wife had a
severe, attack of lung trouble which 9
the physicians pronounced consumption.
The cough was extremely distressing, °
espeeially-at night, and was frequently o
attended with tiie spitting of blood.
The doctors being unable to help her, 9
I induced her totry Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, and was surprised at the great 9
relief it gave. Before using one whole 9
bottle, she was cured, so that now she is o
quite. strong and healthy. That this 9
medicine saved my wife’s life, I have not @
