Dr. Sawyer was summoned to Rush Creek last night to attend Ben Rose, who is very sick, and his wife whose life is despaired of. Mrs. Jane Gray, mother of Mrs. Wm. Holmes and the late James B. and William Gray and Edward Gray is very ill at her home on Spring street, and owing to her advanced age her recovery is doubtful. The young son of Ed. Gray ‘and wife is also sick, and last night both Mrs, Gray apd her grandchild were both reported as being very low. Frank Gilbert; who was so terribly burned in a fire at the. In August last Woerner employed a man, whom he believed to be a tramp, on bis ranch near Clipper Gap, this county, where he and his wife were spending thesummer. He took the supposed : tramp into bis service on the 28th of the month. " On the 29th be caught the tramp bugging Mra. Woerner on a road leading to the ranch. Thereafter, he declares, the kissing and hugging of his wife by the new hired man was of almost daily oocurrence. However, these little discomity in Foreign Mission;-plays of affection escaped Woerner’s Dotice until October 9, when he alleges on the road to OlipperGap. After that discovery the kisser did not return to the ranch. > Some weeks later, though, Woerner heard of him.again, this time through letter which ho says was directed to Mrs, Woerner, In this epiatle the supposed tramp disclosed his identity as . Williem Floyd, a soldier at the Presidio, San Franeisco, who visited this county while ona farloagh. The letter wae “fall of disgusting nonsenee” Woerner alleges, and among other things it expressed the wish that Woerner would soon die. Woerner didn’t, die, but he had an }iuterview with Mrs. Woerner, and as a result she tried te commit suicide. He stopped her and the next day found another letter. That settled it with Woerner. He brought suit for a.divoree, filing bis complaint: in this city. He charged both with ‘sruely and infidelity. Woerner. was represented here by Jones & Larue and the case has been transferred to the courts at the Bay. Will be Manager.
