T i WES,
Affections of Bis
— Wife.
@ According to Adoiph Woerner it was
a soldier who came between him’ and
bis wife. In August last Woerner employed a man, whom he believed to be
a tramp, on bis ranch near Clipper
Gap, this county, where he and his
wife were spending thesummer. He
took the supposed : tramp into bis service on the 28th of the month. " On the
29th be caught the tramp bugging Mra.
Woerner on a road leading to the
ranch. Thereafter, he declares, the
kissing and hugging of his wife by the
new hired man was of almost daily oocurrence. However, these little discomity in Foreign Mission;-plays of affection escaped Woerner’s
Dotice until October 9, when he alleges
on the road to OlipperGap. After that
discovery the kisser did not return to
the ranch. >
Some weeks later, though, Woerner
heard of him.again, this time through
letter which ho says was directed to
Mrs, Woerner, In this epiatle the supposed tramp disclosed his identity as .
Williem Floyd, a soldier at the Presidio,
San Franeisco, who visited this county
while ona farloagh. The letter wae
“fall of disgusting nonsenee” Woerner
alleges, and among other things it expressed the wish that Woerner would
soon die.
Woerner didn’t, die, but he had an
}iuterview with Mrs. Woerner, and as a
result she tried te commit suicide. He
stopped her and the next day found
another letter. That settled it with
Woerner. He brought suit for a.divoree, filing bis complaint: in this city.
He charged both with ‘sruely and infidelity. Woerner. was represented
here by Jones & Larue and the case
has been transferred to the courts at
the Bay.
