Affections of Bis
Employer's Wife,
According to Adolph Woerner it was
a soldier who came between him and
his wife. In August last Woerner employed a man, whom he believed to be
@ tramp, on his ranch pear Olipper
Gap, this county, where he and his
wife were spending thesummer. He
‘took the supposed tramp into his service on the 28th of the month. On the
29th be caught the tramp hugging Mrs.
Woerner on a road leadiag to the
ranch. Thereafter, he declares, the
kissing and hugging of his wife by the
new hired man was of almost daily occurrence, However, these little dispays of affection escaped Woerner’s
otice until October 9,-when he alleges
he found the tramp hugging his wife
on the road to Olipper Gap. After that
discovery the kissér did not return to
the ranch.
heard of him again, this time through
a letter which he says was directed to
Mrs, Woerner. In this epistle the supposed tramp disclosed his identity as
William Floyd, a soldier at the Presidie,
San Franeisco, who visited this county
while ona furlough. The letter wae
“fall of disgueting nonsense” Woerner
alleges, and among other things it expressed the wish that Woerner would
soon die. ,
Woerner didn’t die, but he had an
{oterview with Mrs. Woerner, and as a
result she tried to commit suicide. He
stopped her and the next day found
another letter. That settled it with
Woerner. He brought suit for a divoree, filing his complaiat in this city.
He charged both with cruely and infidelity. Woerner was represented
here by Jones & Larue and the case
has been transferred to the courts at
the Bay.
