It sesms that on or about the ith inst. so:c ten white men mado an attack on this Inidan Camp & leilled tue (£f not three) of the Indians, uder the imprexsion tnat satd Indians or some others hind stolen some of their cattle wich wore then rigging ~ but behold the very next day, after having borsted of their feat, the lost eattie were founde It may readily be guoposed that, in rovengdy the notives fell wpon the Holts as the nost available vietins & eonsidering that after such outrages a1 white mon wore equally at faults and thus has on: becn murdered + another severely wounded & their property, tho work and earnings of many months (for with themill were c neuned some thousands feat of lumber) purtoly im consequences of a lawless aggression of white Een in the first instance! !
