The apportionment of school money
to Nevada county for the fiscal year

The United States Circuit Court has
enjoined Sierra county to keep them
from proceeding to collect the sheep
tax of 10 cents per head apon 80,000
sheep belonging to P. L. Flanigan.

Electric Company. After listening to
the music he galled Leader Condy
aside and said that he had traveled a
great deal, but had never seen any
musical organization of boys that could
compare with the Stockton band. He
said he wanted to treat the boys, and
Leader Condy thought perbaps that
meant icecream. He was taken considerably aback when Mr. Martin put
bis hand into his pocket and handed
Mr. Condy a twenty-dollar piese for
the band.
The boys were taken to visit the
Obampion mine and got there just as
sbifts were being changed. The Superintendent wanted to know if the
boys would not play a piece as the
men came up the shaft. The miners
were working 2400 feet deep, and on
ascending the shaft when they’ had

looked, is tied tightly with a rope.
Durno takes a position in front of the
trunk and draws a curtain. The
committee, in a very short time, removes the curtain, To the surprise of
the onlookers, the assistant is stand‘ing in the spot where Durno had stood,
and when the trunk is untied and unlocked and the seal broken, the
magician is found inside the sack.
Hugh J. Emmett, the entertainer and
ventriloquist, always makes a great hit
with the audience, keeping them in a
roar of laughter much of the time.
