Dunbar, Mr. _. WJ April 14, 1854 p2c5: assisted by Robinson family, appeared at Dramatic Hall April 12th, 1854. Dunlap & Austin NJ September 13, 1851: builders of the Bunker Hill Quartz Mining Co., located on the north bank of Deer Creek & Cayoteville & Wood Ravines. Dunlap, (Rev.) R. R. — in May 1851, took over the M.E. Church in GV; B&D p4l. Dunlevy, Daniel miner, house at American Hill in 1855; B&D. Dunlevy, (Rev.) Mr. resided in SF and was elected in 1847 to represent city in a meeting called by Fremont the then acting Governor; opened the first saloon in Rough & Ready and a few months later dedicated the first ten-pin alley in the county; TsW p89 & 90. Built the first frame house in Rough & Ready in 1850; lumber was brought fran GV and cost $200/thousand at the mill; B&D p45. (T&W spelled the name "Dunleavy"). Dunn, _. arrived in Nevada County, September 15, 1849; fram Mackinac, ‘Michigan; settled at Selby Flat; NCR. Dunn, A. J. — DTL'57 DEM November 18, 1857 dwelling adjoining meat market of Hunt & Co. at Woolsey's Flat. DI April 9, 1868 p3cl: Terrible Accident. Yesterday morning a cave occurred in the Manzanita Hydraulic claims of Marselus & Maltman, near this city. A huge mass of clay slid down from its place in the bank, striking at the feet of A. J. Dunn, rolling over him and produc— ing instant death. The body of Dunn was uncovered and his neck found to have been broken. A. J. Dunn was a man apparently about forty or forty-five years of age. He was a widower, and has a married daughter residing at Knight's Landing, and two sons in San Francisco. He was a member of Oustomah Lodge, IOOF and will be buried by the Lodge from the M. E. Church. Dunn, Evelina wife of J. S. Dunn; one daughter who died NJ August 4, 1854. Dunn, Francis J. arrived in 1854; (Dunn & Hupp) attorneys, 21 Pine, corner of Broad Street in NC in 1855; B&D. After the July 19, 1856 fire, formed a partnership with Henry Meredith located on 2nd floor, Alban's Brick Building (southwest corner of Broad and Pine) DEM August 20, 1856 plcl: Loss in the fire of July 19, dwelling and furniture, $1,500. DIL'56 DEM December 17, 1856 p4cl: Nevada Township, vacant lot, north side of Washington and personal property; valuation $1,100. DIL'57 DEM November 18, 1857: residence north side of Court Street opposite Catholic Church in Nevada. NI October 18, 1862 p2c4: Expired in this city, on the 17th inst., Francis J. Dunn, aged 45 years. NI October 18, 1862 p3cl: Gone.A well known character has departed fran earth. Francis J. Dunn, once a lawyer of repute, but noted principaly for his eccentricities, was found dead yesterday morning, sitting on a sofa, at his residence in this city. Mr. Dunn had a law case which he attended to the day before, and went hame at a late hour, in his usual condition, that is well filled with stimulants. At five o'clock in the morning he was found a corpse. Mr. Dunn was we believe, a native of Kentucky, and when he commenced the practice of the law was regarded as a young man of promise. He is reported to be a descendent of the old Virginia Randolph stock, and if so, his idiosyncrasies were legitimate. Mr. Dunn leaves an amiable widow, but no children.
