Clipping at LIB no date: Reminisces of Dan Rich: The Dunns came
west from Buffalo, N. Y. how and when unknown. John lived for many
years in a Selby Flat mansion known as the S. P. ranch. He was another
feather weight, stooped, dark haired and straggley bearded, with
sallow complexion. His wife and children were here with him. Like Dr.
Knox he confined his activities to an occasional inspection tour.
Tom Dunn was larger than his brother and interlaced his speech
with unprintable words. Tom had little to do with the South Yuba Canal
Company but spent many years traveling between the states and
California and afoot according to reports.
NI May 10, 1874 p2c2: Death of T. O. Dunn. Thomas O. Dunn, an old
pioneer, died at his residence on Selby Flat, yesterday morning at 7
o'clock, at the age of 53. Mr. Dunn came:to this city in 1850, and was
one of the proprietors of the first ditch in this vicinity that of
the Rock Creek. He was engaged in mining for many years, and was one
of the stockholders of the South Yuba Canal Canpany. Since 1850 he has
made nine trips to the Eastern States. He has been an invalid for many
years, and has not traveled the distance of one mile during the past
six months. He leaves a wife and one son. Mr. Dunn was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a native of Buffalo, N. Y. He will ke
buried by the Masonic Fraternity, of whoch he was one of its highest
members. The funeral takes place from his late residence.

Duryea, Albert NI January 14, 1863 p3cl: Mr. Albert Duryea, while crossing
a ravine upon a plank, near Red Dog, was precipitated fifteen or
twenty feet by the breaking of the plank. We hear that his back was
dislocated by the fall; if this is so his recovery is doubtful.
