The body of Vincenzo Baffa, who was drowned near the Eagle saw mill, on Deer Creek, on Friday last, was found yesterday morning a short distance below the Gold Tunnel mine and nearly two miles, by the line of the creek from the point where he was drowned. The circumstances connected with his death indicate that he committed suicide while laboring under temporary insanity induced by drinking. The body was found ladged against same stakes which were buiried in the sand, the back resting against them and the corpse almost bent double. The head had several gashes cut deep by the rocks and boulders and the limbs and body were distorted and bruised. The body lay out of the water half buried in the sand, the clothing and boots torn off. It must have lain there several days. It was stated that Baffa had about $700 on his person when he was drowned but none was found on examination. Deceased is a Swiss, 39 years of age and has been ranching in Willow Valley for some time.
