June 21, 1861 p3cl: Nevada Hose Co. #1 will erect a flag pole in
front of the engine house on Main Street.
June 28, 1861 p3cl: John Grimes will raise a mammoth American
Flay 18'x32' in front of his Saloon on Pine Street today. The following inscription is on the flag, “The Union, the Constitution, and the
Equality of States!" This is the largest flag in this section of the
country. It was made to order nearly a year ago on board the
revenue cutter "W. L. Morey".
July 1, 1861 p3cl: Flag #1 at Nevada Hose Co. #1 is 18' long and
12' wide. The arrangement of the 34 stars in the Union is novel, in
