Ford, Michael NI December 18, 1866 p3cl: Found Dead. — Yesterday morning
a man named Michael Ford, was found dead at Hamilton's ranch a short
distance below GV. Deceased resided for same time in Willow Valley,
where he was engaged in mining, and cabined with Mike Hanley. On last
Tuesday evening he went to White's house and statd he was afraid to go
to the cabin, because Hanley would whip him, and said he had been in
the woods all day. No difficulty had occurred between the parties, and
Ford's fears were only imaginary. He ate supper and slept all night at
White's, and in the morning started for the cabin with the intention
of getting his blankets and going to Red Dog. On Saturday he was seen
by Mr. Wheat, who resides below GV. Ford told him that everybody would
be dead in the morning. When asked his reasons, he said: "Everything
has changed." After some other onversation, Wheat, believing him
insane, took him to town, but he went off again and was found in Mr.
Hamilton's yard, on Monday morning, dead. The body had no clothing on
except a flannel shirt. A Coroner's inquest was held on the body
yesterday, and the jury brought in a verdict that deceased came to his
death from exposure. .
