Barbour, H. P. -— NT August 15, 1873 p2cl: Death of Judge H. P. Barbour. The
death of Judge H. P. Barbour is announced as having taken place at
San Francisco on Tuesday morning last. Judge Barbour was the first
District Judge of this District. His age was fifty-four years.
Barbour, William T. fran Kentucky, was one of the earliest attorneys in
the vicinity of Nevada City; arrived in 1850; served as First
District Judge 1851 to 1855 this included four counties in the 8th
district (Yuba, Sutter, Nevada & Sierra); politics Democrat;
NO April 19, 1851: office in Brown & Davis' Store (NE corner of
Broad & Pine Streets). TaW p94 & 95.
Expired at Virginia City, Nevada in 1872 (CA Pioneer Library).
