Brown, T. C. arrived in Nevada County November 9, 1854; from Dewitt, Iowa; settled in Pleasant Valley; NCR. Brown, William listed as miner, residence Broad Street NC in 1861 DIR. Brown, William Creigh born July 14, 1834 or 35; native of Plattsburgh, New York; expired at San Francisco CA February 26, 1909. DEEDS Book 5 p382 recorded December 2, 1859 John Trenberth of GV to Wm. C. Brown of GV for $400: Parcel of land, with house and other buildings, located in GV; 400' frontage by 200' deep; east and south of GV; west of Kate Hays Hill and west of "The Auburn Road". DEEDS Book 8 pl61 recorded May 1, 1861 William C. Brown to Thamas R. Walker for $80.00: a mining claim located on the GV Slide adjoining the Empire Ground. HOMESTEADS Book 1 p98 recorded January 15, 1861: William Creigh Brown and his wife Elizabeth: bounded on the South by the Ophir Hill Road; east by the Auburn Road; on the north by the lot and premises of F. F. Collier; on west by lot and premises of one Cocklin; 400' frontage by 200' deep with a frame dwelling house and other buildings. Numerous mining claims see LW Research Notes. Brown, William H.
