Bruce, Pete clipping fram TRANSCRIPT, no date. Death of Pete Bruce,Pete Bruce, one of the early residents of North San Juan, died at St.
Louis, Mo., about two weeks ago. His remains arrived by yesterday
morning's train in charge of his brother, and were conveyed to San
Juan, where he will be buried. Bruce was at one time in co-partnership
with the late Charley Schardin, and afterward with John Dickson. He
left here for the East with his family, consisting of a wife and three
children, about four years ago. About two months ago he was taken sick
and died of congestive chills. In this case, as in many others,
misfortunes did not come singly. After the death of Mr. Bruce, Mrs.
Bruce was making arrangement to come back here with the remains of her
husband, when one of the children had the misfortune to break one of
its arms, and she was detained in St. Louis to care for it. Mr. Bruce
was a popular man, and many will regret to learn of his death. His age
was 45 years.
