Frank Pauson, one of San Francisco’s leading citizens, arrived in this city on Saturday evening and returned to the Bay Sunday evening. In 1874 Mr. Pauson was a Supervisor of this county and represented Meadow Lake and Little York townships. He proved to be one. of: the very best. Supervisors that these districts ever sent to the oounty seat, and was a faithful and en— terprising representative of his constituents. He was engaged in the clothing business at Truckee for many years, but having concluded to dispose of bis interests there he resigned the Supervisorsbip and went to San Francisco to engage ‘in the wholesale clothing business, afterwards opening up one of the largest and most elegant retail clothing establishments in that city. He retired from that business a few years ago, and was succeéded by his sons. Mr. Panuson was one of the leading men to. start up an opposition electric and gas works at the Bay city, and is now one of the principal stockholders and president of the company. Mr. Pauson is also engaged in many mining enterprises in this State and his brief visit to this city was for the purpose of examining one of our mines, to which his attention bad been directed. We learn that he was favorably impressed with the proposition and will become interested in it, This means a big thing for our city, as Mr. Pauson and his friends have’unlimited capital to invest in mining propositions of real merit, and there are many such to be found in this district. Daring Mr. Pauson’s brief visit in this city he was most cordially welcomed by the old-timers who had the opportunity of meeting him. All who know the gentleman place him in the front ranks as a man of the highest integrity, and they are pleased to know that he has been so successful in his many enterprises, + 2@e > . Con.
