He pulled on his pants, grabbed his shoes in his band, and. his. first. thought. being of hie mother’s picture, he rashed into the front room to save it. As be started to turn on the electric light, he saw that the ‘ wall surrounding the electric awitch was all ablege, and he. secured ‘his mother’s picture, and started for the back door, but the smoke was so thick that be could not find it, and he retarned and went out a side door. Mr. Griffiths’ then slipped on his ehoes and started to find some one to turn in an alarm, but Morris Green; a neighber, had been awakened by the crackling of the flames, and had turned in an alarm in the meanwhile. Mr. Green and Mr. Griffithe then turned streams of water from their garden hose onto the residence of Mr. Green, which caught fire three or four times, and kept it from getting much of a start until the Prospect Hill fire boys arrived, when the lade got to work with the skill of old fire fighters and saved the building. As it was, all the windews on the side of the house next to Griffiths’, were broken; by.the heat. The roof of A. Ohmert’s fesidence, on the other side of the Griffiths’ home, caught fire also, but the Prospect Hill boys turned their at1 teotion to it, and: soon had that blaze. evening the fourth quarterly ence was held-at--theMethodist b, Rev, W.8 Mathew, D.
