According to the Sacramento Sunday Leader, the Second Infantry Band at that city has asked an accounting on the financial score from Col. J. W. Guthrie. The band is entitled to draw . down from the State $35 per month to assist in maintaining the organization. The money should have come through Col. Guthrie. A year ago.the band clamored for its apportionment, but Gol. Guthrie put them off on one pretext. or another. It has now been 18 months. since they have received a dollar of State money. Recently a committee waited upon Col. Guthrie and demanded a settlement forthwith. This demand Guthrie could not comply with, but promised to settle in full at the earliest possible date.
