Bad Stones. of the Secret Service has received a number of bank notes printed from ihe original plates and used by the State . . Bank of New Brunewick, N. J., over fifty yearsago. The bank went out of existence some time in the fifties and it was supposed that the steel plates from which ite notes were printed had been destroyed. It seems, however, that these plates have fallen into the hands of parties who have printed from them§large quantities of notes, which have been put into circulation from New York to San Francisco. A very large percentage of the notes so far discovered are twos, although some ones and fives are being sent in. Inasmach as the no‘es are not counterfeits of any United States note or obtigation the makers and passers can= not be prosecuted under the United States laws. It appears that the notes readily pass along the Canadian fronof the Oanadian province of New Brunswick, the words “New Jersey” being printed in small letters. The notes are printed on bond paper and are quite as good in every way as the originals. It is said that possibly $2,000,000 of these notes are in circulation, : eo Order of Elks. Wea : There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a great many yéars doctors pronounced it’ a local disease, and pre— scribed local remedies, and by con.stantly failing to cure with local treat. ment, pronounced it incurable. Science has proven catarrh to be a constitational disease, and therefore reuires constitutional treatment. Hall’s tarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J.
