SAN FRANCISCO, July 30—The first serious trouble between union and non-union teamsters occurred this morning
when Peter Lych, a striker, was shot in the left hip.
Roscoe Horn and William Ferguson, two non-union
teamsters, were attacked by strikers at Emmon’s stable, at
and fired eight shots over head andthe nineth bullet hit
Lych in the hip, inflicting a bad wound.
The crowd scattered a little when the shooting commenced but again began to collect in and the men retreated
in the barn, where they were besieged until a large force of
police arrived and dispursed the crowd and arrested the
shooters.
Lych’s wound is not considered to be very serious.
