“District Attorney Power's Oration.
The celebration at the town of Washington attracted a big crowd of people
and everybody had a good time.
District Attorney Power was the
orator, and his address gave unbounded i,
satisfaction.
Mr, Power began by commenting on
the fact that Washington was an ideal
place to commemorate the 123d anniversary of our country’s birth; that
the spot was eloquent with the voice of
freedom, liberty being nature’s gospel
and the mountains being among its
grandest -teachers. In their rocky
fastnesses freedom had ever taken
refuge in her weakness until she was
strong enough to battle for ber rights
upon the plain,

early pioneers, who in 1861 lined the

Yesterday afternoon Nightwatchman
Fowler arrested four young men
