All parsons before engaging in any peddling
referred to in Section 1 hereof, shall pay to the
City, fora license théretor, in advance, one of
the fellowing sums of money, to wit: One
Dollar and 50-100 ($1.50) per day; or Ten ($10)
Dollars per week; or Twenty-five ($25) Dollars
per quarter.
_ Section 8.
Any person doing any peddling as aforesaid
without first procuring the license therefore
herein required, is hereby declared to be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined ina sum not less than twenty
dollars, nor more‘than one hundred dollars, or
shall be imprisoned tn the City prison for a
term of not exceeding ten days.

An ordinance to.provide Revenue—to levy &
City Road end Street Poll Tax for the years
1895 and 1896.
HE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CiTY
of Nevada do ordain as follows:
Section 1. ThataCity Roadand street Poll
Tax of Three Dollars is hereby levied, for the
fiscal year 1895-1896, upon each male inhabitant of the City of Nevada over the age of 21
aud under 50 years, for Gity Koad and Street
purposes, which said Poll Tax shali become
due aud become collectable on and after the
firat-day of June 1895, in‘the miancr picvided
by law tor the collection of School Poll Taxes,
Section 2. The City Marshal of said City of
Nevada ‘s hereby made Collector of said tax,
and shall collect the same inthe manner provided by law, and upon the neglect ér refusal
of any person liable therefor to pry said tax
after demand, said Marshal must collect the
same by seizure and sale of any persons! propertd owned by such person,. Said sale may be
made afterthree hours verbal notice of time
and place and the provisions of Sections 3791,
8798, 8794, 8795 and 3796 of the Political Code of
California, shall apply to and govern such
seizure and sale.
Section 8. The City Marshal must make a
sworn report to the City Board of Tiustees of
the tot lamount of ssid poll taxes collected
by him during the preceding month, and must
pay the same, less the amount of his percentage for.collection, tothe City Treasurer at
the same time that other revenues are made
payable.
Section 4. The City Marshal shall be allowed
fifteen per cent of ali such poll taxes co.leeted
by him for said fiscal year, for making such
volections.
