He Nearly Severs Two Fingers From His
Right Hand With an Ax.
ED Waggoner met with a serious accident at Quaker Hill about half-past 11
o’clock this forenoon. He was splitting
stove wood and was holding a stick with
his right hand and using the ax with his
left hand, when the sharp blade of the ax
struck him on the hand with sufficient force
to almost completely gever the right index
finger, close to the hand, and cutting partly
through the secoud finger. Frank White
brought Waggoner to town ‘and Dr, Maller
attended him. The forefinger was found to
be hanging by a small particle of-skin, but
the doctor decided not to remove it, hoping
that the circulation, which was not entirely
destruyed, would be sufficient to save the
member. The second finger can be saved.
