Description and Remarks :
REVOLUTION is a dark brown, has a rich black flowing mane and
tail, stands 15 hands 3 inches high and weighs 1050 pounds; has
plenty of bone and muscle; trotied in his 4-year-old form, .over the
San Joaquin Agricultural Society’s track, winning easily against-a
strong field of horses. Seven heats were trotted in the race; also winner of the free-for-all stallion race at Grass Valley,in Psa 1883,
defeating Almont and Prompter handily. REVOLUTION is one of
the grandest trotting sires on the Pacific coast, and has shown trials
in his work of 2:27. He is sure gaited, level headed, kind and gentle,
and is asure foal getter. : :
Pedigree.
REVOLUTION—Sired by Prince of Orange, he by Volunteer (the
sire of St.Julian), he by Rydsyk’s Hambletonian,
Prince of Orange—dam by the celebrated mare Katy Thorn by
Long Isiand Black Hawk; second dam by Abdallah. (
Revolution—Dam b. m. Cricket, she by Rydsyk’s Hambletonian
by Seeley’s American Star.
Cricket, while carrying this colt, trotted a mile at Sacramento in
2:25, and was sold in New York for $5,000.
REVOLUTION has a combination of the best blood in the country ;
his colts are’all large and are good for the track or for general service. ~The breeders of Nevada and adjoining counties will do well to
call and examine the horse. .
