life miserable Though I sought the best medical advice, my sufferings seemed to increase, and recently upon the advice of a friend, I used Paine’s Celery Compound, and found it to be a wonder-working compound. I have A Curious. Sight. William. Snell, a former resident, who was. injured about the head and face by the explosion of an oil burner at the Utica chlorinating works at Angels Camp, Oslaveras county, a short while back, and mention of which was made in this paper, was discharged from tbe Utica Miners’ Hospital’a day or two ago as cured. Mr. Snell leftthe institution with as beautifal a crown of green hair as would excite the envy and admiration of the most patriotic son of the EmeraldIsle. This odd metamorphosis in the color of his locks was due to the chemical actions of the lotions applied by the doctors in affecting a complete effacing of the disfiguring scars resulting from the burning oil. Whenever he appears upon the streets he is the center of aitraction and strangers stop and gaze at him in mystified amazement. But “Bill” is not disconcerted in the least at the thoughts of being so conspicuous @ personage for his physicians have informed him that in the course of time his hair sill resume its nataral color.
