"Deafness Cannot be Cured
by local applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.,.'
There is. only one way to cure deafness,
‘and that is by constitutional remedies,
Deafness is caused by. an inflamed condition: of ‘the mucous lining of the
Eustachian Tube,. When this tube gets
inflamed you have a rumbling sound
or imperfect hearing, and when: it-is
entirely closed deafness is the result,
and unless the inflammation can be
taken out and this tube restored to its
normal condition, hearing will be. destroyed forever; nine cases out of ten
are caused by catarrh, which is nothing
but an inflamed condition of the mu: cous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars
for any case of Deafness (caused by
catarrh) that cannot be cured by Hall’s

Never Disappoints
A few days ago Editor Wadsworth of
‘miles above Moore’s Flat. It has been
. worked in @ ‘superficial way for many
years, and at times marvelously rich
ore has been extracted from the ledge.
Three mills. were erected. on the property at various timés, and finally it fell
into the hands of Charles Hegarty Sr,
the pioneer merchant of Moore’s Flat,
. }who did considerable prospecting.
Capital’ was needed to develop the
claim, and ‘about five years ago Mr.
Hegarty sold it toa company of New
York capitalists represented by Col. I.
M. Taylor. The latter resigned shortly
afterward, and Mason W. Mather was
sent out from New Mexico to take
charge. Mr. Mather abandoned the
various shafts which had been sunk on
the top and near the top -of the ridge,
and, going down the hillside, ran three
tnnnels into the hill. Two of these
tunnels are about half a mile in length
at present, and a fourth one is contemplated which will be 1,700 feet, vertical
depth, from: the top of the ridge, when
driven. The present-tunnels were run
on the ledge, so that there is a vast
amount of “backs.” The ledge varies
in size, running from afew inches up
to four or five feet in thickness, and a
ten-stamp mill is “kept. running night
. and day upon its ore, while here and
there are found. the bunches and
“pockets” that. have made the Plumbago’s name famous for thirty years
or more. From an inspection ‘of. the
mine we venture to say that it is good
for fifty years to come, for the company own 9,000 linear feet of the ledge,
having recently purchased the Hope
and other adjoining claims. The mine
is well equipped. Has a good. mill and
other necessary maghinery, all of which
is run by compressed air. .The company’s power plant, located in the bottom of the ‘canyon about half a mile
below the mill, is a model of excellence.
Two large compressors are run ‘by a
Pelton wheel, operated by free water
,, from the river. It has a fall of ninety
feet with 3,000 inches of water brought
in by a mile or more of a flume. A
whereby all of the works are: lighted by
electricity. The Plumbago is lighted
throughout by electricity.
