collided with a freight train near that place.
Nobody was hurt, but in. consequence of

4 O'clock This Afternoon.
Dr. Willard performed a very delicate
surgical operation this morning upon George
Wishart of the Rose. Hill mine. The patient Had been suffering intense pain in one
of his ears. An incision waa made and a
large gathering in the head reduced, which
had the effect to give the sufferer immediate
relief and he is now resting comfortably.
The basement cf Samuel Keast’s residence
was entered by a thief last night or this

formed a surgical operation upon Phil
Byrne, the carpenter and. contractor, who
some time ago injured the shin bone of his
right leg. The injury caused the bone to
become slightly diseased, necrosis having set
in, and it was necessary to lay the bone bare
and remove the diseased portion in order to
stop further decay of the bone, The operation is a very simple one and was quickly
and successfully performed. It is the opinion of the doctors that Byrne will improve
right aloug now, although it will be some
time before he will be able to use his leg.
