Rare Old Coins.
Onovittz, June 18—-A colored man
working for H. C. Veatch, near heres
plowed up a lot of curious silver coins.
There were 380 of these soins, and they
included American, English, -French,
German, Spanish, Belgian, Peruvian
and United States of Oolombia, The
latest date on any of the coins was 1852.
There were eighty-five French francs
dated from 1590 to 1820; twelve Spanish
coins from 1777 to 1810; German thalers
bearing the head of Wilhelm III; Swedish choins with the head of Oscar; East
Indian rupees of 1840; old English
shillings dating back to George T;
Italian coins of 1806, and various other
old coins of different nations. The
ground has been plowed twice and
scraped, and this was the third plowing, so that the machine was down

Commissioner, both from the standpoints of public appreciation and the

civil engineer of ability and experience,

of Nevada county is one of the evidences of his standing and popularity.
There is also the important consideration that he is an experienced mine
surveyor, is familiar with the mining
industry, and is also familiar withe hypartly through having served five years
as assistant engineer to the Debris

taxes for the fiscal year of 1901-1992
are now due and payable tothe City
Marshal, at his office in the City Hall.
Taxes will become delinquent on August 5th. The Marshel will be in his
