Snell saw spooks every night and tried to hide in the manger, there were some who were inclined to make light of the story, but now that Harvey Cooper’s tine buggy horse, in a barn across fhe way, has got “cutting ap shines,” people in that neighborhood are beginning to believe there is something in the spook racket. Cpoper’s horse tried to jump through the barn roof the other night and soon afterwards was found on his knees as if in supplication to a hobgoblin, spook or something else. At their meeting tonight the Board of City Trustees will open the bids for the sewerage bonds. Owing to the number of bids that have been received and the fact that representatives of some of the bidders are here it is~presumed that there will be strong competition. A local syndicate will make au effort to secure some of the bonds, and in view of the demand there is for these securities they should bring a gvod price. The face value of the bonds amounts in the aggregate to $28,000, but the Trustees expect to receive a good, big premium in addition to that. Six per cent per annum is the interest the bonds draw. — + ee The Festival. At the I. O. O. F. Hall, on Friday night, the Beneficent Society of the Congregational church will bold their proposed festival. On Saturday afternoon the festival will be for the children. There will bea fish-pond, lemonade booth, apron booth and _refreshment stand. In connection with this a fine program will be readered.
