Peter Hunerfauth, an old and ighly respected citizen of this city, died at the residence of Frank Aumer on Monday night at ten o’clock. He was .born January 20th, 1811, in Bavaria, Germany, being 75 years, two month and 23 days of age at the time of his death. At the age of 27 he arrived in New Orleans where for several years he was engaged in the ice business. In 1844 he was married and then took up his resi. dence in Galena, Illinois. His wife died in this-city-on the 22d day of September, 1885. For eight years inGalena Mr. ‘ Hunerfauth . was engaged in the brewing business. In 1852 he arrived in this city, and soon after went to Washington, this county, where he engaged in mining for the ensuing five years. He afterwards opened the Central House, on the Washington road, and kept. that public house for:17 years, and the remaining twelve years. of his life was spent in this city, where he was highly esteemed by a large circle . of friends. Mrs. Aumer, at whose home he died, was his only child. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mrs. Aumer this .afternoon at two.o’clock, and the ceremony will be. conducted: by Nevada Lodge, No. 13, of the Masonic fraternity, of which he was the oldest member. ee i Railroad Freight Business. ‘An immense amount . of. freight is being brought to this city via the Nevada county Narrow Gauge . Railroad. The little railroad has about as many freight cars as any of itslength, and yet on Saturday last every one of them were well filled with freight at Colfax, Grass Valley and this city. An extra freight trainarrived here yesterday morning and the passenger trains brought up two and three cars Sunday. The railroad employes at this city were deprived of the usual opportunity of attend-. ing Church, but instead. were. un' packing freight most of the day in order to send empty cars to Colfax to be refilled with. the freight which is there awaiting shipment. » There is a large amount of freight atthe depot for our merchants and also for the up country merBchants. Although the roads are very rough, teams are engaged in hauling some of the freight to its destination in the mountains. “> The One-Legged Acrobats. An opportunity will be afforded our citizens this evening of withessing one of the most novel and interesting entertainments ever given in this city. Barnes & Frazer, the one-legged acrobats will appear at the Theatre: to-night in acrobatic feats, high kicking, leap-+ ing, dancing, ete. The entertainment will be -interspersed with singing of all the latest pieces of music, bothcomic and sentimental. These professionals come endorsed by the press of New York, Cincinnati, San Francisco.and other cities where they have played. See advertisement and bills. ‘230 wa. 25.
