Robinson, who represented Nevada county in the Assembly for two terme, and who for the
past twenty years has been the representative of the Western Union Telegraph Company at Grass Valley, has resigned his position, and will be eueceeded by A. P. Johnston, who has removed to the Weiasbein building, one door above the postofiice. Whist Party. — ‘Mrs. M. M. Bernheim last.evening entertained a number of lady friends at whist at her home on Cottage street. The favorite game was played and some of the contests proved close and interesting. New York, June 26—David Burnside, 24 years old, residing in Brook-— lyn, shot and killed his wife, Lilian, aged 22, in a concert saleon on the bowery at Coney Island and then fired a bullet into his own head, with probably fatal effect.
