Certificates Granted to Wfany Applicants. As a result of the teachers’ examina: tion this week, Misses Beatrice James and Theresa O’Connor each received a primary grade certificate, the percentage in each case being 83 per cent. Thase were the only successful ones of the eleven applicants that began writing the first of the week. Of the others all but one failed on the test ‘studies, and that one did not make enough credits to bring her up to the required standard. .The Board also summed up the result of the grammar school examinations, and it was found the following pupils had been successful: Rose Cahill 80 per cent., Vivien ©. Bankin 89 per cent., and Bessie Cloudman 81 per cent., of You Bet; Harry P. Beaser 87 per cent., Chicago Park; W. Dwaine Peaslee, 91 per cent., of Maxwell; Wendell Kallenberger 84 per Gent., Christiana Peterson 87 -per cent., Wm. L. Peterson 80 per cent, of North Bloomfield; Celia Skehan 83 per cent., of Birchville; Harry Lamblyn 88 per cent. Janie Clemo 85 per cent., of Oakland; Atdie Smith 81 per cent., of North Star; Genevive Kent 95 per cent., of Kentacky Flat. The primary certificates of Miss ‘Ethel McKinney and Miss Carolyn Brown were renewed. s Miss Helen Pear! Thomas was grantéd a certificate on her State University credentials. This.is the last teachers’ examination at which primary grade certific ates will be granted, and also the last time that examinations will be held semiannually. Hereafter examinations will be held annually and for grammar grade certificates only. Primary certificates will not be granted in the future, but those now in existence-will be made permanent certificates and those holding them may obtain grammar grade certificates by taking the ad ditional subjects only. High» school certificates, which heretofore have been granted by the Board on examinations, will be granted on credentials only, and on such as are recemmended by the State Board of Education.
