Mr. Rogers’ report in regard to the
hiring of the Nevada City Band, was referred back to the Band, and a further

Brown, Chairmen, reported ¢hat. there
would be: basket: ball contests on the

bénefit of the General Committee and

J.E. Carr, Chairman of the Parade
for the Evening of the 4th, reported
that there was to-be the finest display
of fireworks ever seen in the county.
A fine display of moving pictures will
also be given.
E. W. Schmidt, Ohairman of the
Evening Committee of the 5th, report—
ed that there would be a large free
dance and other amusements.
J. E. Carr, Chairman of the Committee of the Parade of the 5th, reported
that there would be a big patade, with
different features from that of the 4th.
Thomas Sharp, Chairman of the Chinese feature of the parade, reported
that the Chinese would have an attrac—
tion that would be second to none in
. the parade. “Much depends on the appropriation made. as

. Band, with a view to having it take
part in the parade.

The Narrow Gauge have made a rate
of $1 for the round trip from Colfax to
Nevada Oity, for all those attending
the celebration.
“The Narrow Gauge Railroad, with its
usual generosity, in addition to,donating $25 to the ;celebration fund, will
pass 'the Ladies’ Band of Auburn, the
Boys’ Band of ‘Stockton, and twelve of
the Basketball teams over the road free
of charge. The Committee are very
thankful to the company and’ its General Manager, O. P. Loughridge.
