The estate was originally appraised at
$177,363 25, From this sum the executors have deducted $19,050: for the
homestead that was set apart to the)
widow and the sum of $5,475 for stock
that was sold, leaving a balance of $15,888 25. Added to these are some
dividends on stock and interest on
. notes, and bonds and coupons, aggregating $11,279.65,making the total charge
against:the executors $164,117 90. This
amount to be distributed to the widow

Evening Gazette: from Alturas, Cal.

Sheriff Street returned from the
scene of the lynching last night. The
bodies of Calvin Hall, his three sons
and son-in-law were cut down and
buried by citizens. Indians are rather
hostile over the hanging of one Indian
boy, but no trouble is anticipated.
The Grand Jury will be called and the
matter investigated. :

was aged 29 years, 7 months and 6
days. He leaves « widow, four brothrs, Richard, Edward and John
Phillips of this city, and Thomas Phil.
