Reno, Nev., June 3—A special to the Evening Gazette: from Alturas, Cal. says: $ Sheriff Street returned from the scene of the lynching last night. The bodies of Calvin Hall, his three sons and son-in-law were cut down and buried by citizens. Indians are rather hostile over the hanging of one Indian boy, but no trouble is anticipated. He acted as manager of the business till the time ot being taken bedfast. Mr. Phillips was a good man in every respect, being-a faithful husband, a true friend and a kind neighbor. He was aged 29 years, 7 months and 6 days. He leaves « widow, four brothrs, Richard, Edward and John Phillips of this city, and Thomas Phil. lips of Graas Valley, and five sisters, Mrs. Henry Jacobs of this city and Mrs. W. Doidge, Mrs. Samuel Stuart irs. Wm. Harris and Miss Bell Philps of Grass Valley. His parents, Mr. od Mrs. Samuel Phillips, also live in Hrass Valley. The grieving wife, parots and other relatives have the ginbere sympathy of all their acquaintnees.
