he entered Hopkine’ Military Academy
of Oakland, where he was enrolled
about the year 1884. Here his precocious and advancing proclivities forged

until the year 1890, when he was graduated with the highest of honors.
‘Returning to his native city, his
father, the late George G, Allan, appointed him his assistant in the charge
and rdnning of the Nevada Foundry,

Allan manage the immense holdings of
his father, that at the time of the latter’s demise some years later, he was
enabled to take hold and assame enside of the foundry, consisted of vari

afternoon at 2 o’clock from the family
residence on Haet-Broad street, under
the auspices of Hydraulic Parlor, No.
66, N.S. G. W., of which organization
