For Supreme Court Justice.
Judge J. C. B. Hebbard of the Superior
Court of San Francisco will be a candidate
before the Republican State Convention for
the nomination for Justice of the Supreme
' Of our citizens, having been raised here and
attended our public schools. He is today
considered one of the ablest jurists.in the
State, and the decisions rendered by him in
several of the most important cases ever
tried in California are regarded as models
of legal judgment, and show clearly that
the Judge decides conscientiously, without
fear or favor. From the fact that he was a
Nevada county boy some yéars ago, and in
view of his excellent qualifications, our
delegates should vote for him to a man,
oe
Dr. J. H. McLzany’s Sffengthening Cordial and Blood Purifier is admirably adapted
to make ‘‘a little health go a long way.’
Its curative power is largely attributable to
its stimulant, tonic and nutritive properties,
by which the energy of the system is recruited. It is pleasant to the taste, easily
borne on the stomach and harmless under
prolonged use. Try it.

{A MAN GES WER
Frequent Onslaughts
On the delicate membrane of the bowels
and stomach with drastic purgatives must
have their natural consequence—to weaken
and disable both ‘organs. Nature exacts
severe penalties for infringements of her
jaws, and there is no more glaring one than
that which consists in frequent and unnecessary dosing with violent cathartics. This
is, however, the course pursued by many
bowels, unless constantly relaxed, are not in
a healthy state. When a laxative is really
needed, Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters is the
safest and most thorough. It neither gripes
nor operates violently or excessively. It
invigorates the intestines and stomach, and
arouses the liver. Regularity and vigor are
guaranteed by its use. Sleep promoted,
appetite restored, are among its benign
effects. A tendency to rheumati-m and
kidney trouble is nullified by it, and it com‘pletely eradicates malarial complaints.
