paving, repairing or altering any of said streets,
alleys or thorough fares.

period of twenty five (25) years from and after
the date of the passage of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6,
Work on said Gas plant shall “be commenced
within One Year from date of the pass-ge of
this Ordinance, and completed within two
years from the date of the pesssee of the game,
and in default or neglect thereof this Franchis«
shall be forfeited.

of Nevada, and to exercise the privilege of operating telephones within the said City.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada
do ordain as follows: 5
SECTION 1. The City of Nevada hereby grants
successors and assigns, the right and privilege to
place, lay, erect, msintain and operate in the
streets, alleys and puolie bighways within said
city, poles, wires end other conductors for the
pk poy ey ge of electricity for telephone and
telegra) u es.
SECTION Buch wires or conductors shall be
stretched upon poles or other fixtures above
groond in a workmanlike and anger 4 manner;
said poles shall be erected at the edge of the
sidewalks in said City in a good and substantial
manner and shall be painted. Said grantee and
its assigns shal)_cause a wire to be placed in the

for police or fire alarm purposes, free of charge.
‘The Board of Trustees of said City shall have

elsewhere; the expense of such removal to be
paid by said grantee.
SECTION 3. The said grantee, or assigns, may
make all necessary excavations in any of said
streets, alleys or public highways for the purpose
of erecting and maintaining poles or other supports for said wires or conductors or repairing
the sam, and said work shall be done in compliance with the necessary rules, regulstions,*
ordinances or orders which may, during the
continuance of this Franchise be adopted from
time to time by the Board of Trustees of said
City, and the same shall be done to the satisfaction of thé said Board of Trustees.
Section 4. Nothing jn this ordinance shall
be construed as in anywise to prevent the proper
authorities of said City of Nevada from sewering, grading, paving, pepert repairing or altering any of said stree's or thoroughfares herein mentioned. 3
