FRIDAY....
WERE MARRIED LAST NIGHT.
MARCH 13, 1896.
—~ “fin Made Man and Wife,’
The wedding of George F. Adair and
Miss Nellie Martin, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs, Robert Martin, took place last night! yesterday.
at the beautitful residence of the bride’s
Parente on Prospect Hill. The wedding
ceremony was performed by the Rev. W.
C. Gray, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal . }
Church. At 10 o’clock the wedding party
entered the brilliantly illuminated parlor,
keeping time to the strains of Mendelsson’s pretty wedding march, played in
the most charming manner by Miss May
and Misy Gertrude Adair on the piano.
The contracting parties took a position immediately beneath a huge floral wedding
Dell, composed of smilax and white violets,
and the minister pronounced the holy words
which made them man and wife. Miss
Lottie Martin, sister of the bride, was
bridesmaid and Harry Evans, nephew: of
the groom, was. best man. Grove Eddy
and: pretty little Lillie Martin were the
guard and maid of honor,
“The costumes worn on the occasion by
those composing the wedding party were
very fine. The bride was attired in a dress
of white silk with brocade lace trimmings,
and carried a small bunch of violets in her
hand. Miss Lottie Martin’s costume was
a gown of cream-colored silk, Tbe maid
of honor was attired in a pink-silk dress,
The groom and groomsman wore the conventional suite of black,
After);the wedding ceremony had been
performed the large assemblage of friends
and relatives repaired to the ‘adjoining

Mrs. Adair is one of the fairest of Nevada City’s daughters and her many ac-. p

the many amiable traits of a noble character, 'Shé is a native of Turkey, a fact
probably not very extensively known, at
the time of her. birth Mr. Martin being
at work in that. country in the service of
the British Government. Mr, Adair is an
industrious and upright young man, He
has taken up the trade of plumbing as a
means of gaining a livelihood und isin the

young folks have a host of friends and they,
