within One Year from date of the pass-ge oi

yeare from the date of the passage of the same,
and in default or neglect thereof this Franchise
shall be forfeited.

The Board-of Trustees of the City of Nevada
do ordain as follows: ;
SecTIONI. The City of Nevada hereby grants .
to the Sunset Telephone and Telegraph Co., its
successors and assigns, the right and privilege to
place, lay, erect, maintain and operate in the
streets, alleys and puplic highways within said
city, poles, wires and other conductors for the
transmission of electricity for telephone and
telegraph ptirposes.GEcftos uch wires or conductors shall be
stretched upon poles or other fixtures above
ground in a workmanlike and P ahaa J manner;
said poles shall be erected at the edge of the
manner and shall be painted. Said tee and
its assigns shall cause a wire to be placed in the
City Hall of said City with a tal receiver
al transmitter, which they shall keep in good
condition and which shall be open to use of the
City Marshal; or other City Officers at all times,
for police or fire alarm purposes, free of charge.

paid by said grantee.
SECTION 3. The said grantee, or assigns, may
make all necessary excavations in any of said
