Overland Railroad. The central portions contain most of the rich gold mines, including quartz, hydraulic and placer mines together with, the upper portion of the Horticultural belt, while the western or foothill region ¢onsists exclusively of agricultural and grazing lands. The horticultural and agricultural section of the county comprises about 250,000 acres of land, a large per centage of which is adapted to cultivation.
