This announcement; however, will not be made until President Uleveland has formally stated his purpose not to permit his name to be used in the convention in connection with a third term, It is learned on excellent authority that the Président has fully decided upon this course and it is expected that he’ will make known his determination within a short time. Although Secretary Olney’s name has been considered with favor by Democratic leaders; it is known that he does not desire the nomination, It is undoubtedly trae that Mr, Carlisle’s candidacy will have the support of Oleveland.and the members of the cabinet, He will go before the convention as a representative of the ‘‘sound money” views of the administration. His friends in conducting the canvass for Carlisle’s nomination will urge thatit be laid upon @ ffsound money” platform and if he be successful at Chicago he will then make this issue prominent n the campaign leading up to the November eélection, a Postoffice Inspector Here. When the subject of the postoffice removal from ite present location was broactied to him he. said that no thought had as yet been given to the matter, and that when Mr, Carr made application to move the location of the office the Government would th@h probably deem it time to take some action in regard to it,. but not before.
